Opening of MIC's exhibtion at Pavilion of Knowledge, Lisbon

Posted by: slucas

Walking through the streets of Lisbon and a few minutes later admire the architecture of the buildings of Jerusalem, the colors of Copenhagen and the frescoes in Trento, Italy, is only possible in virtual environments.

Starting on September 23rd, the Pavilion of Knowledge - Ciencia Viva presents the exhibition My Ideal City, an entirely virtual show where the public can observe 3D models of ideal cities. Apart from knowing interpretations of these cities, each visitor can interact virtually through online games and contact with visitors from other science centers.

The exhibition My Ideal City is the result of the European project MIC - My Ideal City, which has as partners the Pavilion of Knowledge - Ciencia Viva (Lisbon), Experimentarium (Copenhagen), the Museo di Scienze Naturali (Trento), Bloomfield Science Museum (Jerusalem) and the University of Venice.

MIC and the Caritas in Canova di Gardolo

Posted by: MaurizioTeli

On February 3rd, we have been at Canova di Gardolo, hosted by the local Church and the Caritas organization. In that focus groups, migrant men and women were involved, thinking about the ideal Trento, that showed up as being multicultural, with bus shelters, life and smiles. As someone told us, "smiling is cheap but it has a lot of value", therefore we smile at the Ideal Trento.

On Saturday 6th, the Trento team of the MIC project, made of Carlo, Maurizio, and Francesco, meet migrants women belonging to the Associazione Mimosa. That was an exciting and incredibly fruitful meeting, where issues of services, transportation, and beauty were brought together, thinking about Trento. The Ideal Trento is taking shape, thanks to all of you.

My Ideal City, a song by Chico Buarque

Posted by: slucas

In 1977, the Brazilian singer Chico Buarque released the song The Ideal City composed by himself, Enriquez and Bardotti. At this point aspects of what would be the ideal city were presented in an artistic way.

The lyrics referred to the ideal city for a dog (have a stake in every square meter and streets without cars), a chicken (streets full of earthworms and warm bellies that turn corn into popcorn) and others. Buarque imagined his ideal city with malls green, painters and sellers among other things.
